Red Fort
This beautiful example of Indian architecture served as the home of the Mughal emperors. The Red Fort was built during the country's capital change and was designed by the same architect responsible for the Taj Mahal, India's main tourist attraction.
Currently, the Red Fort functions as a museum. The visit costs approximately R$$30.
Jama Masjid
Still in the Old City, the Jama Masjid is also worth a visit as it represents another important architectural landmark in the country, being one of the most important mosques in the area. It is located opposite the Red Fort. So try to visit both on the same day to save time.
The mosque was built during the 17th century. It is estimated that the space can accommodate 25,000 people, as it is truly gigantic. Unlike the Red Fort, this tour is completely free.
Chandni Chowk
This is the main street in Old Delhi and is also home to one of the largest markets in India. At Chandni Chowk, you can buy absolutely anything you want, from jewelry to electronics. Another attraction is the considerably low prices.
However, the chaos can be truly insane. The main tip in this regard is not to feel intimidated by the crowds, as this can make you give up on exploring the place. It is also important to highlight the need to remain vigilant, as pickpockets are everywhere.
