Although Jamaica is an island surrounded by the beautiful blue Caribbean Sea, it is still not a place that is on the list of destinations desired by Brazilians. This may be due to the fact that it has a reputation for being an expensive place to travel, and it is indeed. Or also due to the fact that it has a violent past, and also due to its other side in relation to drugs and hedonistic hotels.
One of the places that definitely doesn't deserve more than a stop because it's a boring city is the capital Kingston, but the beaches deserve much more than a stop. Especially Ocho Rios and Negril. A very important aspect here is the tranquility of Ocho Rios, the coves are small in its surroundings and there are few people there. Negril, on the other hand, is larger and always full of tourists.

One of Jamaica's weakest points, however, is its food, but it is worth mentioning here that we highly recommend trying the Patties, the typical Ackee and Salt Fish dish, the Festivals dumplings, and the meats with Jerk sauce made in cans. We also recommend that you explore the country, and not just stay in one resort; there are many possibilities and wonderful places to visit in Jamaica. As for the hotels in the area, the most recommended are Ritz Carlton Rose Hall, Round Hill Hotel & Villas and Half Moon Rock Resort.
Reggae is clearly the most popular musical style in the area, and you will certainly come across several songs of this style being played everywhere you go. It is also worth mentioning that this is also where the most sought-after sunset to watch is from Rick's Café.
